MARK DRY

Born: Mark William Dry, Milton Keynes, 11 October 1987. Clubs: Woodford Green with Essex Ladies & Shettleston Harriers. Coach: Tore Gustafsson.


Mark made rapid improvement in the hammer throw in his early 20s, moving from 57.96 in his first year as a senior to 70.81 two years later. He gained international representation, finishing 6th in the Delhi Commonwealth Games and then taking the bronze medal in front of a Glasgow audience in 2014. In 2015, he threw the hammer 76.93 metres, breaking the Scottish record of Chris Black which had stood for over 30 years.
