LYNSEY SHARP

Born:  Lynsey Gillian Sharp, Dumfries, 11 July 1990. Club: Edinburgh AC. Coach: Rana Reider, Terrence Mahon.

Daughter of Scottish international sprinter Cameron Sharp and middle-distance international Carol Lightfoot/Sharp; sister of sprinter Carly. A great competitor, she gained bronze medals at 800 metres at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2008 and the European Under-23 Championships in 2011. In 2012, however, she made her big breakthrough at senior level, her fast finishing winning her the UK Championships and gaining her the gold medal at the European Championships one week later.
