Born: Christopher David O’Hare, Edinburgh, 23 November 1990. Club: Edinburgh AC. Coach: Terrence Mahon.

From a running family with brother Ryan and sister Olivia, Chris has always shown a good competitive side throughout the age-groups. He went to University of Tulsa in 2009 and has made significant process, with a 3:56.48 indoor mile and a silver at the 2011 NCAA Indoor Championships. He became only the third All-American in Tulsa’s history. In 2012, he became only the second Scot ever to win an NCAA Division 1 title, taking the indoor Mile championship, and in April substantially improved his best to 3:37.95 for 1500. In early 2013, he set his first Scottish records, breaking the indoor 1500 Metres and One Mile records with 3:37.25 en route to a 3:52.98 mile at the Wanamaker Mile at New York's Millrose Games. In July, he went on to run the fastest 1500 by a Scot in 30 years, 3:35.37, at Oordegem in Belgium.
